If the wear pattern on the friction ring surface shows hot spots, this can be traced back to a 'tumbling motion' when driving. The brake pad thereby constantly comes into contact with the same point on the disc. This 'tumbling motion' can lead to isolated hot spots on the friction ring surface and consequently to an imbalance behaviour. The cause for this 'tumbling motion' can be a stiff brake calliper or an incorrectly set wheel bearing clearance.
